This year’s Global Relay Gastown Grand Prix will begin with our first ever youth race. As part of the BC Youth Superweek, 50 girls and boys will get the chance to experience the thrills of the famous Gastown circuit. Entry is free and open to riders of all levels – although some racing experience is recommended.
Race distance: Riders will race for approximately 20 minutes (15 minutes plus 2 laps)
Girls* born in 1999, 2000, 2001, and 2002
Boys* born in 2000, 2001, and 2002
*Races are open to all riders however given the anticipated level of competition and speed of the events it is recommended that participants have some racing experience. **Field size will be limited to 50 riders total (boys and girls). Please register early to ensure a spot.
It is hoped that we will have a “morning spin with the pros” one one day during the week.

July 13 – Mission Raceway Criterium (longer event: 30-40min, additional registration fees applicable)
July 14 – UBC Grand Prix Criterium p/b Mahony & Sons
July 15 – Global Relay Gastown Grand Prix Criterium
July 16 – Giro di Burnaby Criterium p/b Appia Development
July 17 – Tour de White Rock Criterium
July 18 – Prospera Valley Fondo Fort Langley Criterium
July 19 – Prospera Valley Gran Fondo ($30 entry youth and deep discounts for parents detail TBA)
Equipment: While not compulsory, a road bike is highly recommended. Bikes must to be in good working order. Any rider with a bike that is deemed by race officials to be unsafe (for example non-functional brakes) will not be allowed to participate.
Cost: For all races in the series (apart from the Mission Classic) entry is free.
Accommodation: We will make every effort to coordianate host housing for out of town riders (details will be posted on the official Bridge The Gap page).
