VANCOUVER, BC, May 4, 2012 — Allstream, Canada’s all-business communications provider, is proud to join title sponsor Global Relay as presenting partner of the Global Relay Gastown Grand Prix, taking place in Vancouver, British Columbia’s Gastown district on Wednesday July 11, 2012.
This year’s event marks the revival of this prestigious professional cycling race (formerly called the Tour de Gastown). It is expected to attract elite teams and independent riders from across North America and around the world. Past winners include stars of the cycling world such as internationally renowned riders Lance Armstrong and Alison Sydor.
“We are very pleased to be partnering with Global Relay – a longstanding customer of ours – to bring this historic event back to Vancouver,” said Dean Prevost, President of Allstream.
The Global Relay Gastown Grand Prix is part of BC Superweek – a series of several independent events that take place each July in the lower mainland of BC. Since its inaugural year in 1973, the race has become one of Canada’s best-loved professional cycling events thanks to its challenging course, long history and historic location.
Allstream will have a strong presence at the event as co-presenter of activities and awards and host of a VIP tent for attending dignitaries. In addition to its role as presenting partner, Allstream is also proud to sponsor the Trek Red Truck Racing team for this event.
